Terms of Service

Operator: CMP Technologies Ltd
Last updated: the 10th of September 2026
Version: 2.1
1. Welcome, and what these Terms are
Welcome to UK Socials. These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are the legal agreement between you and us when you use the website at uksocials.club and any service provided through it (the “Service”).
The Service is operated by CMP Technologies Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”), a company registered in England and Wales Company registration number to be added on completion of Companies House lookup, with registered office at Registered office address: this is being procured. In the meantime, please contact us at info@uksocials.club for any postal correspondence.. You can contact us at info@uksocials.club.
By creating an account, buying a ticket, or using any part of the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
These Terms are deliberately complete. Our membership terms, payment and refund terms, event ticket terms, community rules and safety rules are all in this one document, so one read gives you the whole agreement. Two further documents sit alongside it:
- Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal data, and our Cookie Policy explains cookies. Both form part of this agreement.
- For convenience, the refund terms in §6 and §7 are restated on the Refund and Cancellation Policy page, and the community rules in §9 are explained with examples on the Community Guidelines page. Those pages say the same things as this document, in the same words where it matters. If you ever spot a difference between them, tell us, and the more generous reading applies to you.

2. Who can use UK Socials
You may use the Service if all of the following are true:
- You are aged 13 or over.
- You are a real person. Bots, automated tools and pseudonymous “organisation” accounts are not allowed, except that a genuine business may hold Organiser or Venue accounts under §8.
- You have not previously had a UK Socials account terminated for breaching these Terms.
- You can lawfully enter into binding contracts where you live. If you are under 16, your parent or guardian must give you permission to use the Service, and by setting up the account you confirm they have.
The Service is designed for people in the United Kingdom. We do not currently market it outside the UK and we may restrict access from other countries.
One account per person. Each person holds one member account. A genuine business may hold more than one business account (for example an organiser brand and one or more venues), but each is a separate account with its own subscription: see §8.6.
3. Your account
3.1 Signing up, and when registration is complete
- You must give accurate information when you sign up, in particular your real name (or chosen display name), your email address, your date of birth, your gender and your UK postcode. The postcode must be a real one: we check it against a postcode lookup service when you type it, and registration is refused if it does not exist.
- Your date of birth is used to enforce the age rules in §2 and §10. It is never displayed to anyone, and neither is your age.
- Registration is not complete until you confirm your email address by clicking the link we send you. Until you do, you are not a member: your account cannot be used, does not appear in any directory or count, and an unconfirmed signup is removed automatically after a short time. If you paid for a membership and do not confirm your email within 72 hours, your signup is cancelled automatically and your payment is refunded minus the card processing fee, which the payment processor keeps on any refund and does not return to us. Confirming your email is the last step of registration and takes one click.
- Payment-detail checks. If the card or payout account you use is already in use on another UK Socials account, your signup or your ticket sales may be placed on hold while we ask the original account holder to authorise the connection. This is an anti-fraud measure: one business can legitimately run several accounts from one bank account, and only the existing holder can confirm that. If the connection is not authorised, we refuse it, block those details from further use, cancel the membership and refund the payment in full. If the hold is not answered within 72 hours the signup is cancelled automatically and the payment is refunded minus the card processing fee, which the payment processor keeps on any refund. The person can sign up again once the payment details are clear.
3.2 Looking after your account
- Your password is your responsibility. Do not share it. Two-factor authentication is available in your account settings and we recommend it.
- Tell us immediately at info@uksocials.club if you think someone else has accessed your account. We may require a password change if we suspect a security incident.
3.3 Deleting your account
- You can delete your account at any time from your account settings.
- When you delete your account: your profile is taken offline and your login is disabled straight away; any subscription is cancelled so you are not charged again; and your data is deleted after the 90-day retention window described in the Privacy Policy §7 (kept during that window only so any open report about conduct can still be reviewed).
- Your conversations are deleted on both sides. Messaging on UK Socials is internal to the platform, so when you delete your account, every conversation you were part of is removed from all participants’ inboxes, not just your own copy. Once you are gone, you are gone.
4. Memberships, prices and billing
4.1 The tiers
UK Socials offers the following membership tiers. Prices include VAT where VAT applies.
| Tier | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Free | £0 | A basic profile with 1 gallery photo, browse events, RSVP to free events. No favourites, interested connections or invitations. |
| Standard | £3 per month | Everything in Free, plus profile customisation, up to 10 gallery photos, unlimited favourites and interested connections, and 2 event invitations per month. |
| Premium | £5 per month | Everything in Standard, plus up to 15 photos, 4 event invitations per month, priority search position, priority curation for events, and access to exclusive Premium-only events. |
| Dating | £15 per month | Unlimited photos, no monthly limit on invitations, the full list of everyone who has ever shown interest in you, and rows of other members near you who share your music, the venues and organisers you follow, or your age. Everything Premium includes is included. |
| Organiser | £20 per month | A business tier: everything in Premium, plus an organiser profile, event creation, and ticket sales through the platform (see §8). |
| Venue | £35 per month | A business tier: everything in Premium, plus a venue profile, event creation at your venue, and ticket sales through the platform (see §8). |
4.2 When your first payment is taken
You give your card details at signup and your membership starts straight away. The date of your first payment is shown at checkout before you pay, and again in your account, and your subscription renews monthly from that date. If a promotion or a coupon gives you a free month, nothing is charged during that month and your first payment is taken when it ends: cancel before then and you pay nothing at all.
4.3 Auto-renewal
Paid subscriptions renew automatically each month until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your account (Account, then Manage Subscription, then Cancel Membership), and cancelling stops all future payments while keeping your access until the end of the period you have already paid for (or to the date of your first payment, if it has not been taken yet).
4.4 Price changes
We may change prices in future. If we do, the change applies to you only from your next billing period after we have given you at least 30 days’ notice by internal message and, where possible, email. If you do not want to pay the new price, cancel before it takes effect and you will never be charged it.
4.5 Payments and failed payments
All payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. By paying you also agree to Stripe’s terms (https://stripe.com/legal). If a renewal payment fails, we retry it; if it cannot be collected, your account drops to the Free tier and we tell you by internal message. You can rejoin a paid tier at any time.
5. Your right to cancel a subscription, and subscription refunds
5.1 Your 14-day cooling-off right
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, when you take out a paid subscription you have 14 days from the day you sign up in which you can cancel for any reason, or no reason.
By ticking the agreement box at checkout you expressly ask us to start providing the paid service straight away, rather than waiting for the 14 days to pass (this is the request described in regulation 36(1) of those Regulations). If no payment has been taken by the time you cancel inside those 14 days, cancelling costs you nothing: you simply pay nothing, because there is nothing to refund and nothing to charge. If a payment has been taken, cancelling within those 14 days refunds what you paid in full, no questions asked. It is all or nothing: you get the whole payment back, never a part of it, and we never charge you for the days you have already used. You do not need to give us a reason. After those first 14 days, the seven-day rule in §5.2 takes over: any monthly payment can be refunded in full if you ask us within seven days of it being taken, and not after. The date of your first payment is shown at checkout before you pay, and again in your account, so you always know which of the two applies to you.
5.2 Cancelling later
After the 14 days you can still cancel at any time, and you never need to give a reason:
- Cancelling stops all future payments.
- You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for, then your account drops to the Free tier.
- No-questions refunds in the first seven days of your month. Ask us within seven days of a monthly payment being taken and we refund that payment in full, no questions asked. It is all or nothing: you get the whole payment back, never a part of it, and we never charge you for the days you have already used. After the seventh day there is no refund for that month: you keep the service to the end of the month you have paid for.
No-questions refunds in the first seven days of your month. No refund thereafter.
Ask us within seven days of any monthly payment being taken and we refund that payment in full, no questions asked. After the seventh day of your month there is no refund for that month: you keep everything you have paid for until the month ends. Your first 14 days are the one exception: cancel within 14 days of joining and we refund what you paid in full, no questions asked, whichever day of the month it is. You get refunded, and we cover any fees, because we’re nice like that.
5.3 How to cancel
The easiest way is in your account: Account, then Manage Subscription, then Cancel Membership. You can also cancel by emailing info@uksocials.club, by post to CMP Technologies Ltd, Registered office address: being procured (contact info@uksocials.club for postal correspondence), or by using the model cancellation form on the Refund and Cancellation Policy page. Any clear statement that you want to cancel is enough.
5.4 When we refuse a refund
We never refuse to let you cancel. We will refuse a refund only where:
- more than seven days have passed since the monthly payment you are asking about and you are past your first 14 days (you keep the service to the end of that month instead), or
- you have abused the cooling-off right (for example repeatedly signing up under different accounts to harvest free periods), or
- your account was terminated for a serious breach of these Terms, in which case any unused portion of the current month is forfeit.
Refunds are paid to the payment method you paid with, normally within 5 working days of the cancellation, plus however long your bank takes to show it (usually 1 to 3 working days). You get the whole payment back: on a subscription refund under §5.1 or §5.2 we absorb any card processing fee ourselves rather than taking it out of what you are owed. The two automatic cancellations in §3.1 (an email address never confirmed, a payment check never answered) are the one exception: a registration that was never completed is refunded minus the card processing fee, because that cost was caused by the registration not being finished, not by us.
5.5 Cancelling your subscription is not deleting your account
Cancelling a subscription keeps your account open at the Free tier with your profile, photos and messages intact. Deleting the account entirely is §3.3.
6. Events and tickets
6.1 Who you are dealing with
Events on UK Socials are run by organisers and venues (together, “organisers” in this section), or occasionally by us. For an organiser’s event, your contract for the event itself is with the organiser: they are responsible for the event happening as described. Our role is the platform: we list the event, sell the ticket, take the payment through Stripe, pass the money to the organiser with our commission deducted, and process any refund back to you (see §7). You do not have to chase an organiser for money: refunds come back through the same system the payment went through.
6.2 Buying a ticket
- The price shown on the event page is the price you pay. There are no added booking fees at checkout.
- Payment is taken by Stripe through our checkout. A ticket exists only once payment has completed: if you open the payment page and do not finish, nothing happens, nothing is held against you, and you can simply try again.
- The last ticket is held, briefly, for whoever reaches the checkout first. If someone else is at the checkout for the last ticket, the event page tells you, with a countdown. If they do not complete the purchase within 5 minutes, the ticket comes back.
- Tickets are personal to you and are not transferable unless the event page says otherwise. Reselling a ticket for profit is not allowed.
- Some events can be booked without an account. These Terms apply to that purchase too.
6.3 Age-restricted events
Every event carries an age group chosen by its organiser: Family friendly, 13-15 only, 16-17 only, 18+, 21+, 25+, or Mixed. The age group is absolute:
- You cannot RSVP to, buy a ticket for, or be invited to an event outside your age group. The platform enforces this automatically, and there are no exceptions, including for family-linked members.
- You can still read the public page of an event outside your age group (there is nothing wrong with looking forward to what you can do next year).
- At the door, checking proof of age for an 18+ or older event is the organiser’s responsibility, not ours.
6.4 Online events
Some events are held online. The meeting link for a paid online event is released only to paid ticket holders. We support links from established meeting platforms only.
6.5 RSVPs to free events
A free event takes an RSVP rather than a payment. Capacity rules still apply, and you should cancel your RSVP if you can no longer come: repeatedly reserving places and not turning up is a breach of §9.
7. Ticket refunds and cancelled events
7.1 Each event states its own cancellation terms
Every event on UK Socials states its cancellation terms on the event page, chosen by its organiser from a fixed list:
- Free cancellation up to 48 hours before the event starts,
- Free cancellation up to 7 days before the event starts, or
- No refunds once booked.
The terms shown on the event page when you buy are the terms your ticket was sold under.
7.2 How to get a refund
Ask through the platform: the event page gives you a Request a refund control on any paid ticket. Your request goes to the organiser, who approves or declines it, and an approved refund is paid automatically back to the card you paid with. You never need to arrange anything privately with the organiser, and no one will ask you to.
- Inside the stated window: if your request is made inside the event’s stated free-cancellation window, you are entitled to the refund. That is the term your ticket was sold under, and an organiser who refuses an in-window request is breaking it: tell us at info@uksocials.club and we will put it right.
- Outside the window, or “no refunds” events: the organiser decides. Organisers can be generous; they do not have to be.
- An approved refund returns 100% of what you paid. How the costs of the refund are shared between us and the organiser is our business, not yours (§8.4): it never reduces your refund.
7.3 Cancelled events
If an event is cancelled, every ticket holder is refunded in full. This applies whoever cancelled it: the organiser, the venue, or us. We may cancel any event without notice where we need to (for example for safety, misrepresentation or legal reasons); if we do, attendees are told and ticket holders are refunded in full.
7.4 Events that go ahead but go wrong
If an event is materially not what was advertised (wrong venue, wrong date, headline element missing), your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply against the organiser, and we will help: report it to us within 14 days of the event and we will take it up with the organiser, including using the refund system where a refund is the right outcome. Matters of taste (“the music was too loud”, “I did not enjoy it”) are not refund grounds.
7.5 No 14-day cooling-off on tickets
The 14-day cooling-off right in §5 does not apply to event tickets. The law exempts leisure activities on a specific date (regulation 28(1)(h) of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013), because a ticket for the 12th of September cannot be resold as new once the 12th of September has passed. Your protections on tickets are §7.1 to §7.4.
7.6 Curated events and invitations we withdraw
Some events on UK Socials are curated by us: we invite a small, matched group. If we revoke your place at a curated event after you have paid (for example because the group has to change), you are refunded in full, and the cost of that refund is entirely ours.
8. Extra terms for Organisers and Venues
This section applies to the Organiser and Venue tiers. These are business tiers: you use them in the course of a business, so consumer protections do not apply to your use of them, and §17 (indemnity) applies to you in full.
8.1 Your listings are promises
Date, time, location, price, capacity, age group and cancellation terms must be accurate when you publish and kept accurate afterwards. Members buy on the strength of what you write. An event that is materially not as described is your liability, not ours.
8.2 Selling tickets and getting paid
- Ticket sales run through Stripe Connect. You connect your own Stripe account through your dashboard, and Stripe carries out its own identity checks on you. By connecting you also agree to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement (https://stripe.com/connect-account/legal).
- No tickets go on sale until your Stripe account is connected and active. Your event can be published and show its price, but the buy button appears only when the money can reach you.
- Each sale is split automatically at the point of payment: the ticket price goes to your Stripe account, and our 5% platform commission (inclusive of VAT where VAT applies) is deducted automatically.
- Ticket money is paid out to you on a rolling schedule set by the platform, currently around 7 days after each sale, so that refunds due under your own stated terms are always fundable.
- You are responsible for your own tax affairs on your ticket revenue, including VAT if you are VAT-registered.
8.3 Cancellation terms and refund decisions
- You choose each event’s cancellation terms from the fixed list in §7.1 when you create the event. Choose terms you are willing to honour: an in-window refund request is not optional (§7.2).
- Refund requests from buyers arrive in your dashboard. You approve or decline them there, and approved refunds are processed automatically through the platform. Never handle a refund off-platform.
8.4 What a refund costs you
When a refund is paid:
- The buyer receives 100% of the ticket price.
- Your ticket revenue for that sale is reversed from your Stripe account.
- We return our 5% commission to you, minus the card processing fee that the payment processor keeps on a refunded payment. Card fees are not returned by the processor on a refund, and they sit between you and your customer: we neither profit from a refund nor subsidise one.
- Where we revoke a curated invitation after a member has paid (§7.6), the refund is our cost: we return the full commission and absorb the card fee ourselves. This is the only case in which we absorb it.
- Where we remove or cancel an event because it does not keep to our rules or to the spirit of the platform (§8.9), the refunds are treated exactly as if you had cancelled the event yourself: we return our 5% commission minus the card processing fee, and that card fee sits with you.
8.5 Running the event
- Safety and licensing are yours. You are responsible for the safety of attendees at your events and for every licence and permission the event needs (premises, alcohol, music, public performance, insurance). We do not audit events and we are not liable for what happens at them.
- Age checks at the door are yours. The platform gates who can book by age group (§6.3); checking ID at an 18+ or older event is your job.
- Cancelling an event must be done through the platform, so that attendees are told and ticket holders are refunded (§7.3). Do not simply not turn up.
8.6 Accounts, brands and bank accounts
- The platform works account by account. One business running an organiser brand and two venues holds three accounts, each with its own subscription. You may not run several venues out of one account.
- The same bank account may legitimately fund several accounts of one business. The first time a card or payout account is reused on a new account, the new account (or its ticket sales) is held while the original holder of those details is asked to authorise it. Refusal blocks the details, and a refused signup is cancelled and refunded (§3.1).
8.7 Reviews of your events
The reviews and reputation members see on UK Socials must be genuine (this is also the law: fake reviews are a banned commercial practice). Do not write reviews of your own events, pay or incentivise anyone to review, or coordinate ratings. We remove fake review activity and repeated cases end the account.
8.8 If your business account ends
If your subscription lapses or your account is terminated, your published events with sold tickets do not simply vanish: existing ticket holders keep their tickets and their refund rights, and we may keep your events visible read-only for that purpose. Money already owed to buyers under §7 remains owed.
8.9 Events we may remove
We reserve the right to remove any event we believe does not keep to the spirit of UK Socials, or to the rules and policies that sit behind it. That judgement is ours to make, and we make it to protect the platform and the people on it.
- If we remove an event that has sold tickets, every ticket holder is refunded in full through the platform. A buyer is never left out of pocket by a removal.
- The cost of those refunds sits with you, not with us and not with your buyers. It is handled exactly as it would be if you had cancelled the event yourself: we return our 5% commission minus the card processing fee the payment processor keeps, and that card fee is yours (§8.4).
- We accept that a small number of these cases will be an honest misunderstanding rather than anything deliberate. That does not change how the refunds are handled. We provide the service, and the cost of an event that should not have been published is not ours to carry.
- If you believe we have got it wrong, contact us at info@uksocials.club and we will look at it again. The Complaints Procedure is open to you in the usual way.
9. Community rules: how to behave on UK Socials
UK Socials exists to get people meeting in the real world, safely. These rules are part of these Terms: breaking them is a breach of contract with us, and §13 and §14 explain what happens next. The Community Guidelines page explains the same rules with examples, in plain English.
9.1 Be a real person, presented honestly
One account per person (§2). Real photos of yourself. No impersonating anyone, no fake profiles, no misrepresenting your age, location or identity, and no setting up accounts to evade a suspension.
9.2 Treat people decently
No harassment, bullying, threats, or targeted abuse of any kind, including on the basis of race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, disability or age. If someone asks you to stop messaging them, stop. Disagreement is fine; going after a person is not.
9.3 Keep photos and content the right side of the line
Photos and content follow the same line as mainstream social platforms: suggestive is allowed, explicit is not. Swimwear, gym and glamorous night-out photos of yourself are fine. Nudity is not: no exposed genitals, no sexual acts, no female nipples (breastfeeding and genuine medical contexts excepted), and no see-through or barely-there coverage that amounts to the same thing. No sexual solicitation in photos, profiles or messages. No content glorifying violence, self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders. No content showing or promoting illegal drug use.
Every photo a member uploads is reviewed before it is shown publicly, and a photo that breaks these rules never appears. A removed photo carries a formal warning (§13); illegal imagery is handled under §9.10.
9.4 Respect the age rules
The platform blocks contact between members aged 21 or over and members aged 17 or under, and between members aged 18 or over and members aged 15 or under. Do not lie about your age, do not help anyone else to, and do not use Family Link (§10.3) with someone who is not genuinely family. If you are an adult and someone who appears underage for their declared band contacts you, do not engage: report it.
9.5 Respect people’s boundaries
Do not make members feel watched, hunted or pressured. Do not keep messaging someone who is not replying. No sexualised comments about anyone. Do not engineer being at the same events as someone who has shown no interest in you. Behaviour like this is taken seriously whether or not any single message breaks a rule on its own.
9.6 Do not use members
Do not angle for invitations to events you want free entry to; do not accept invitations and then drop the people who invited you; do not solicit money, gifts, “investments” or expensive favours from members; do not pitch schemes, MLMs or affiliate offers. We treat this family of behaviour as seriously as fraud whether or not money changed hands.
9.7 Keep it on the platform, until it is real
Do not mass-message members to harvest phone numbers, emails or social handles, and do not push people to off-platform chat apps you cannot be reported on. Sharing contact details with someone you are actually meeting is the whole point; harvesting them is not.
9.8 Fair use of invitations
Invitations are for genuinely inviting people, not for pestering them. The platform enforces sensible limits: your tier’s monthly allowance (§4.1), a cap on how many unanswered invitations you can have open at once (currently 10), and a limit on how often you can invite the same member (currently twice in any 30 days). The Dating tier is exempt from all three of these limits. Invitations expire if not answered. Trying to get around the limits is a breach of these Terms.
9.9 Honour what you accept
If you accept an invitation or RSVP to an event, turn up, and be part of the group you joined. Life happens and a cancelled plan is fine; a pattern of accept-and-ignore is not. Some events carry a no screens agreement: by accepting, you agree to keep your phone away and be present.
9.10 Nothing illegal, ever
The following is prohibited absolutely, and is reported to the authorities where the law requires or allows:
- Child sexual abuse or exploitation material of any kind, or any sexual communication with a child. Zero tolerance, immediate termination, reported to the National Crime Agency and the Internet Watch Foundation.
- Terrorism content, or content inciting violence or hatred against people on the basis of protected characteristics.
- Threats, stalking, coercive or controlling behaviour, or harassment within the meaning of UK criminal law.
- Sharing intimate images without consent, including deepfakes, and any form of sextortion.
- Fraud of any kind: romance scams, fake events, fake profiles run for money, advance-fee scams, counterfeit sales.
- Supplying or offering to supply controlled drugs or illegal weapons.
- Malware, phishing, scraping or harvesting members’ data, attacking or probing the platform’s security, or using bots or automation against the Service.
9.11 The full picture
We cannot list every way to behave badly, so the standard behind all of these rules is: act lawfully, honestly, and in a way that does not harm other members or the platform. The Community Guidelines carry worked examples of every rule above.
10. Safety: how we protect members, and what we monitor
This section explains the protective systems that are part of the Service, so you know what runs and why. The Privacy Policy explains the data side of each one.
10.1 Privacy by design
There is no public browsing of member profiles: profiles are visible only to logged-in members. Your activity is private to you. Your date of birth, age, and postcode are never displayed to anyone. Photos you upload have their hidden location data (EXIF and GPS) stripped from the stored file automatically.
10.2 The age gates
Contact between members aged 21 or over and members aged 17 or under, and between members aged 18 or over and members aged 15 or under, is blocked automatically: messages, invitations, interest-matching and profile visibility. Where an age cannot be established, the platform fails closed and blocks contact. Members outside your permitted band simply do not appear to you, and you do not appear to them.
10.3 Family Link
The single exception to the age gates is Family Link, for genuine family (a parent and child, siblings, cousins). Both sides must explicitly opt in and confirm the family relationship. Misusing Family Link to reach someone who is not your family is a serious breach (§9.4). Family Link never overrides the event age tags (§6.3) or any other rule.
10.4 Reporting, blocking, and the panic button
- Every photo, message, profile and review carries a Report control. Reports go to a human administrator; the person you report is not told who reported them.
- You can block any member. A blocked member cannot see you, message you or interact with you, and is not told they were blocked.
- Members under 18 have a panic button available on every page: one tap sends an urgent report straight to us, and only to us, so a young member can ask for help without having to tell anyone around them first. We act on panic reports immediately, including involving the police where the situation warrants it.
10.5 Safety monitoring
We monitor how the platform is used so that behaviour which puts members at risk gets noticed even when nobody reports it: attempts to interact with members outside the age bands, and patterns associated with harassment, exploitation of other members, or fraud. Two things are always true of this monitoring:
- It looks at patterns of activity, not at your private messages on a routine basis. Admin access to message content is trigger-based only (a report, a complaint, a legal requirement) and every access is logged. See Privacy Policy §5.1.
- A flag never punishes you automatically. Flags are advisory input to a human administrator, who reviews before anything happens. Using UK Socials means consenting to this monitoring, on the basis set out in the Privacy Policy.
10.6 Curated events
Events we curate have two named hosts (a host and a hostess, or two hosts of the same gender for a single-gender event) whose job is to welcome the group, check everyone is accounted for, and report back to us. Curated group chats include Lilu, our platform assistant, and any administrator presence in a group chat is visible, never covert. The curation engine also enforces a minimum distance between members’ home areas, so being matched never reveals that someone lives very close to you; if your own distance setting makes you hard to match, we ask you before anything changes.
11. Peer reviews and reputation
After an event where you and another member were paired by an accepted invitation and you both attended, each of you may be invited to review the other. This system is one of the main ways members can trust who they are meeting, so its rules are part of these Terms:
- Reviews are mutual and open between the two of you. You each see what the other wrote about you, and you can reply to a review of you. Because you attended together, reviews are not anonymous between the pair.
- Nobody else sees the text. Other members never see the reviews themselves, only your aggregate reputation score, and only once enough reviews exist for the aggregate not to point at any one reviewer.
- Some categories are admin-only. A small set of safety-related review answers goes only to us, feeds our safety systems (§10.5), and is never shown to the reviewed member or anyone else.
- Honesty is required. Fake reviews, traded reviews, coordinated reviews and retaliatory reviews are breaches of these Terms, and we can see the patterns that produce them. Honest, civil reviews are protected: we do not punish members for truthful negative feedback.
- You may choose to hide your own attendance and reputation display. Other members can see that it is hidden; what they make of that is up to them.
- Review data is personal data and the Privacy Policy (especially §2.6 and §8) explains your rights over it.
12. Your content and the licence you give us
12.1 What “your content” means
Everything you post, upload or send on UK Socials: photos, your profile and bio, messages, reviews and replies, event listings, and anything else you create here.
12.2 You own it; the licence you give us is narrow
You keep ownership of your content. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, store, resize, back up and display your content only as needed to run the Service for you and the people you have chosen to share it with, including showing it to our moderators when a report requires review, and allowing the processors listed at /sub-processors/ to handle it only as needed to deliver their part of the Service.
We do not use this licence to train AI or machine-learning models on your content, to sell your content, to license it to anyone for their own purposes, or to publish it outside UK Socials.
12.3 When the licence ends
The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for narrow residual copies: backups (overwritten in the normal cycle, within about 30 days), moderation records where your content was the subject of a report (kept per Privacy Policy §7), payment records the law makes us keep (6 years), and anything a court, regulator or law-enforcement agency requires us to preserve. Messages you sent to others are deleted from both sides when your account is deleted (§3.3).
12.4 You are responsible for what you post
Post only what you own or have permission to use, and nothing that infringes anyone’s rights. If you believe content on UK Socials infringes your copyright or other rights, email info@uksocials.club with enough detail for us to find and assess it; we act on valid notices.
13. Moderation, reporting and enforcement
13.1 How moderation works
Most content publishes immediately and is reviewed on report. Reports are reviewed by a human administrator: we aim to respond within 24 hours, and faster for anything safety-critical, with child-safety reports handled as same-day priority. Suspected child sexual abuse material is removed immediately on discovery and reported to the Internet Watch Foundation and the National Crime Agency; we intend to add automated hash-matched scanning of uploads (IWF membership) as soon as the platform’s revenue supports it, and until then all uploads are subject to report-driven human review.
13.2 What we may do on a breach
Depending on seriousness and history: remove content; issue a warning; restrict features; suspend the account; terminate the account; refuse a refund under §5.4; and where the law requires or allows, report the matter to the police or another authority. We aim to be proportionate: a first minor breach usually gets a conversation, not a ban. Serious harm goes straight to termination.
13.3 We tell you, and you can challenge it
When we act against your content or account we tell you what we did and why, except where telling you would put someone at risk or prejudice a criminal investigation. If you think we got it wrong, use the Complaints Procedure: a different administrator reviews the decision, and if we were wrong we put it right, including restoring content, reinstating accounts and crediting back paid time lost to a wrongful suspension. We do not penalise anyone for appealing in good faith.
13.4 How to report
Use the Report control next to the content, or email info@uksocials.club. For child-safety concerns use the subject line “URGENT: child safety”. If anyone is in immediate danger, call 999 first.
14. Suspension and termination
14.1 By you
Stop using the Service at any time, cancel your subscription at any time (§5), and delete your account at any time (§3.3).
14.2 By us
We may suspend or terminate your account where you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms; where the law or a regulator requires it; where your continued presence puts members, the public or the platform at risk; or where we discontinue the Service entirely (in which case we give you notice and a way to export your data). We tell you when we act, except where doing so is unsafe, and §13.3 gives you the route to challenge it.
14.3 What survives
On termination you lose access to the Service. Money already owed in either direction under §5, §7 or §8 remains owed. Sections of these Terms that by their nature continue (content licence residuals, liability, indemnity, disputes) continue.
15. Changes to the Service and to these Terms
The Service is under active development: we add, change and remove features. We will not remove a feature you have specifically paid for in a current billing period without a refund or an equivalent.
For substantial changes to these Terms (new restrictions, new fees, changed refund terms, change of operator or governing law) we give at least 30 days’ notice by internal message and, where possible, email, and you can close your account before the change takes effect. Minor changes (clarity, typos, contact details) take effect when published, with the date at the top updated. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept it.
16. Disclaimers and limits on our liability
16.1 What we promise about the Service
We provide the Service with reasonable care and skill, as the Consumer Rights Act 2015 requires. We do not promise the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or always available: bugs and outages happen, and we fix them.
16.2 Other people
We do not vet members, and we are not responsible for what members, organisers or venues say, publish or do, on the platform or at events. We moderate, we run the safety systems in §10, and we comply with our duties under the Online Safety Act 2023, but the people you meet are people, not products we certify. Meet new people sensibly: in public, telling someone where you are going.
16.3 Events
Your contract for an event is with its organiser (§6.1). We are not liable for an event being cancelled, misdescribed or badly run; §7 sets out what we do about your money, and §7.4 how we help beyond that.
16.4 The cap
Where we are liable to you, our total liability is capped: for paying members, at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim; for free members, at £100. We are not liable for loss of profit or business, losses caused by events outside our reasonable control, losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you signed up, or loss caused by other users’ content or conduct.
16.5 What is never limited
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that UK law does not allow us to limit or exclude. Your statutory rights as a consumer are untouched (§19).
17. Compensation for misuse (indemnity)
If a third party brings a claim against us because you broke these Terms (for example you posted content you had no right to post, or you ran an event that harmed someone), you agree to compensate us for the reasonable costs of dealing with that claim, provided we tell you about it promptly and do not settle it without your agreement.
If you are a consumer, this section does not apply where the claim arises from something we did wrong, and nothing in it affects your statutory rights. If you use the Organiser or Venue tiers, this section applies to your business use in full.
18. Privacy, notices, and how to contact us
- How we handle your personal data is set out in the Privacy Policy, and cookies in the Cookie Policy. By using UK Socials you confirm you have read them.
- When we need to give you a formal notice we use your account email and your platform inbox: keep your email address up to date.
- When you need to give us one: info@uksocials.club, or by post to CMP Technologies Ltd, Registered office address: being procured (contact info@uksocials.club for postal correspondence).
19. Your statutory rights
Nothing in these Terms takes away any right you have under UK law that cannot be excluded by contract, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. If anything in these Terms conflicts with those rights, your rights win.
20. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
- If you are a UK consumer, you can bring a claim in the courts of the part of the UK where you live, or in England and Wales, and we can bring a claim against you only where you live.
- Business users of the Organiser and Venue tiers: the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
- Talk to us first: most problems are fixed by emailing info@uksocials.club or using the Complaints Procedure, and it is faster than any court. You can also get free help from the Citizens Advice consumer helpline (0808 223 1133).
21. General points
- Severability. If part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
- No waiver. Not enforcing a rule once does not give it up.
- Entire agreement. These Terms, with the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service.
- Assignment. You cannot transfer your account or these Terms to anyone else. We may transfer our rights and obligations to a group company or a buyer of the business, and we will tell you if we do.
- Third parties. Nobody other than you and us has rights under these Terms (the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 does not apply).
- Language. These Terms are written in English; if translated, the English version prevails.
22. The affiliate scheme
Members of sixteen and over get a personal affiliate code on the Affiliate tab of their dashboard. When someone signs up with it and pays their first month, that first payment is theirs to keep. This section is the deal behind it.
- Who can take part. You must be sixteen or over, with a date of birth on your account. Under-16s do not get a code and cannot be paid.
- What you earn. When someone signs up with your code and pays their first month, you receive that first monthly payment in full. One payment per person you refer, ever: their renewals earn nothing more. We cover the transfer fee.
- When you are paid. If the person you refer gets a free month through a promotion of some sort, their first payment is taken in month two; otherwise it is taken in month one. That payment then sits inside the seven-day no-questions refund window (section 5), and we pay you one week after that window closes, by bank transfer to the UK bank account on your Affiliate tab. Nothing is paid until you have given us bank details.
- Refunds cancel the earning. If that first payment is refunded, fails or is reversed, the earning is cancelled. If we have already paid you, we may deduct it from your next payment or ask for it back.
- Sharing your code. You may share your code publicly: with friends, on social media, in a video, on a card. If someone passes your code on, it is still your code and the earning is still yours. You may not present yourself as UK Socials, make promises about the Service that we do not make, or use your code for spam.
- Tax. Affiliate payments are yours to declare. We do not deduct tax, and any income tax or other liability on them is your responsibility.
- Fraud. We may withhold, delay or cancel a payment where a referral looks fraudulent: for example a referral of yourself or of an account you control, an account created only to earn the payment, or a first payment made with the same card as yours. Repeated abuse ends your code and may end your account (section 13).
- Changes. We may change or close the scheme at any time. Earnings that are already payable are still paid.
23. The Dating tier
Dating is an optional extra membership tier. UK Socials is not a dating app and does not become one when you add it: the Service is for events, venues, organisers and invitations, and Dating simply adds a few features on top for members who want them.
- Who can have it. You must be eighteen or over. We check the date of birth on your account before the tier is added, and we refuse the checkout if you are under eighteen. No payment is taken when we refuse.
- What it costs. £15.00 a month, with the same seven-day refund window and the same cancel-any-time terms as every other tier (sections 4 and 5).
- What it adds. Unlimited photos, no monthly limit on invitations, the full list of everyone who has ever shown interest in you, and rows of other members near you who share your music, the venues and organisers you follow, or your age. Everything Premium includes is included.
- What it does not change. Every other rule still applies to you in full: the community guidelines, the age gates, blocking and reporting, and the rules on contacting other members. Dating gives you no additional access to anybody, and no member is shown to you who would not otherwise be shown to you.
- Only members eighteen and over. The members shown to you in the Dating rows are eighteen or over and are in your own postcode area. We never show the exact postcode or address of any member to anybody, and the members search accepts a city or a postcode area only.
- Leaving it. You can cancel or change back to another tier at any time from your account. Photos over the limit of the tier you move to stay on your account but may stop being shown.
