What this policy covers
This policy explains how UK Socials (the website at uksocials.club) uses cookies and similar technologies on your device, what they do, and how you can control them.
UK Socials is a service operated by CMP Technologies Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”). If you have questions about this policy, contact us at info@uksocials.club.
This policy works alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains the wider picture of how we handle your personal data.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device when you visit them. Similar technologies (web beacons, pixel tags, local storage, session storage) work in similar ways. In this policy, “cookies” means all of them.
Cookies do useful things — they remember that you’re logged in, keep your preferences between visits, help us see how the site is used, and let us keep the platform secure. They can also be used for tracking and advertising, which is why they need your consent.
Categories of cookies we use
We group cookies into four categories. You can accept or reject each category independently using the cookie banner that appears the first time you visit the site, or by clicking the persistent “Cookie Settings” link in the footer at any time.
1. Strictly necessary cookies
These are cookies the site cannot function without — for example, the cookie that keeps you logged in, the cookie that remembers what’s in a checkout, or the cookie that helps us protect against attacks. We do not need your consent to use these because the law (PECR reg 6(4)(b)) recognises them as essential to deliver the service you have asked for.
2. Functional cookies
These remember your choices — for example, the colour scheme you set on your profile or the music widget you’ve placed. They make the site nicer to use but the site would still work without them. We ask for your consent before setting them.
3. Analytics cookies
These help us understand how the site is used in aggregate — which pages people visit, how long they stay, where they get stuck. We use this to improve the site. We use Google Analytics 4 for this. Analytics cookies are off by default and only set if you explicitly accept them.
4. Marketing / advertising cookies
We do not use marketing or advertising cookies. We do not run ads on UK Socials and we do not share your data with advertising networks. This category is listed for completeness — if we ever introduce them in future, we will update this policy and ask for your consent before setting them.
What cookies we set
This is our current cookie inventory at the date of last update. Cookies marked Strictly necessary are set without consent (see §1 above). All other cookies require your opt-in consent.

Note: the exact list of cookies on any given page depends on what features that page uses. For example, Stripe cookies only appear on pages that load the payment form. This table is a complete list of what may be set during normal use of UK Socials, not a list of what every page sets at all times.
We do not knowingly use any cookie that uniquely identifies your device for the purpose of tracking you across other websites.
How to manage your cookie preferences
On UK Socials
- The first time you visit, a banner appears at the bottom of the screen with three options: Accept All, Reject All, or Customise. Reject All is as easy and as prominent as Accept All. Customise lets you toggle each category individually.
- After your first choice, your preferences are remembered for 12 months, after which the banner reappears.
- You can change your mind at any time by clicking the “Cookie Settings” link in the site footer. This re-opens the banner so you can adjust your choices.
In your browser
You can also block, delete, or limit cookies directly in your browser settings. The links below explain how, but be aware that blocking strictly-necessary cookies will stop UK Socials working properly:
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
UK Socials honours the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser sends GPC, we treat that as a request to reject non-essential cookies, even if you haven’t interacted with the banner.
We do not currently honour the older Do Not Track (DNT) header, because DNT does not have a clearly defined meaning under UK law.
Cookies set by third parties on our pages
A small number of cookies on UK Socials are set by third parties:
- Google (Google Analytics 4) — sets
_gaand_ga_*cookies. Only set if you accept analytics. Google’s privacy notice: https://policies.google.com/privacy - Stripe — sets
__stripe_*cookies on payment pages. These are strictly necessary for fraud prevention on payments. Stripe’s privacy notice: https://stripe.com/privacy - GoDaddy (our hosting provider) — may set
_tccl_*and_scc_sessioncookies. GoDaddy’s privacy notice: https://www.godaddy.com/legal/agreements/privacy-policy
We have no control over the cookies these providers set on their own services. Where their cookies are subject to your consent, the consent collected via our banner controls them.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when our cookies change — for example if we add a new feature that uses cookies, or remove one we used to use. The “Last updated” date at the top tells you the current version. Significant changes will trigger the cookie banner to reappear so you can review and re-confirm your choices.
